Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar (200 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (133 g)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped apples (100 g)
  • ½ cup toasted pecans (53 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast pecans in a small pan over medium heat until fragrant; set aside.
  3. Peel, core, and chop apples into small chunks.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add the egg and mix until fluffy.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; add to wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in apples and pecans.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 8×8 baking dish and bake for 30-45 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
