- Optional: 1 tablespoon oil
- Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients and tools for a smooth cooking process.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir until dissolved and boil without stirring until amber in color (about 10 minutes). Carefully add salt and heavy cream while stirring; mix in butter until smooth.
- Slice apples into wedges or rounds and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Dip each apple slice in warm caramel sauce using tongs or forks, then place back on the baking sheet.
- Optionally sprinkle with chopped nuts before caramel sets or drizzle melted chocolate over slices.
