Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- Green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic during the last two minutes.
- While cooking the beef, boil water in a pot and cook the noodles according to package instructions; drain.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet and mix in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired).
- Whisk cornstarch with water in a small bowl to make a slurry, then stir into the beef mixture. Simmer until thickened (2–3 minutes).
- Toss in cooked noodles and let sit for another 2–3 minutes before serving hot with sliced green onions on top.
