Ingredients
- 2 medium onions (sliced)
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
- 3/4 tsp ground cumin
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp lime juice (or lemon juice)
- 1 green hot chili pepper (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp parsley (chopped or cilantro)
- 3 tbsp oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the onions; set aside.
- In a bowl, combine chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, cumin, salt, turmeric, water, lime juice, chili pepper, and parsley. Whisk until smooth.
- Stir the sliced onions into the batter until fully coated.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown on both sides (about 2-4 minutes per side). Repeat with remaining batter.
