  • 1.5 lbs beef flank steak (or chuck roast)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • Optional: 1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  3. Layer sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it. Top with broccoli florets.
  4. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours until beef is tender.
  5. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry and stir in during the last half hour of cooking.
  6. Serve over warm rice, garnished with sesame seeds.
