  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 5 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 4 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 3 tbsp caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup Imperial Sugar powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour (for streusel topping)
  • 1 tbsp Imperial Sugar granulated sugar (for streusel topping)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (for streusel topping)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (for streusel topping)
  • 1 & 1/2 tbsp butter (cold, cubed, for streusel topping)
  • 1 green apple (sliced into cubes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, apple juice, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until combined.
  4. Fold in cubed green apples gently.
  5. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Bake for about 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
  7. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; mix in caramel sauce and powdered sugar until creamy.
  8. Once cooled, frost each cookie with cream cheese frosting.
