Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with this delightful Turtle Caramel Cake, a perfect blend of rich chocolate, gooey caramel, and crunchy pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 package (11 oz) caramel bits
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 container chocolate fudge frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, whole milk, eggs, and canola oil; mix until smooth.
  3. Pour half the batter into the baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. While baking, melt caramel bits with butter and evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth.
  5. Pour melted caramel over the partially baked cake layer.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans on top of the caramel.
  7. Add remaining batter over the top; spread gently to cover.
  8. Bake for an additional 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool for about 2 hours before frosting with chocolate fudge frosting and garnishing with extra nuts.
